American Dental Association is a United States professional membership organisation for dentists with activities spanning professional guidance, standards, education, advocacy, research resources and public oral-health information. It also maintains widely used coding and standards programmes and produces policy and workforce analysis. The association is not a government regulator: its role is professional representation and support, with separate programmes such as CDT, the Seal of Acceptance and MouthHealthy serving narrower functions.
