Dental Milling Machine

A dental milling machine is computer-controlled equipment that removes material from a block, disc or blank to manufacture a dental restoration or prosthetic component. Systems may machine zirconia, ceramics, polymers or metals using multiple axes and dedicated burs, with workflows ranging from chairside crowns to laboratory frameworks. CAM software supplies the toolpaths and machining parameters. The machine is the physical subtractive-manufacturing device, not the restorative material, digital design or finishing process.
