Institutos Odontológicos is marking five years alongside Zaragoza's Carrera de la Mujer. Organizers expect 17,000 runners on November 8, 2026, with oral-health outreach planned at the SportWoman Expo the day before.

More than 38,000 women in Spain are expected to receive a breast cancer diagnosis in 2026, according to figures reported by Democrata.

The publication attributed the estimates to Isabel Orbe, chief executive of the Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC) and its scientific foundation. More than 500,000 women are living with the disease. Five-year survival stands at 88%, rising to as much as 99% when cancer is detected early.

Those figures provide context for Zaragoza's Carrera de la Mujer, which expects 17,000 runners on November 8, 2026. The race promotes women's sport and backs prevention efforts addressing breast cancer and inequality. Institutos Odontológicos says those aims align with its work encouraging oral-health prevention and making dentistry more accessible at its three Zaragoza clinics.

The financial effects of cancer reach beyond treatment. Afroféminas, citing a 2025 study in ESMO Open, reported that 52% of cancer patients in Spain face a substantial reduction in monthly income. The publication also referred to a 2023 study by the Spanish Association Against Cancer on the financial and employment vulnerability of people with cancer.

On November 7, the day before the race, Institutos Odontológicos will have a stand at the SportWoman Expo. Visitors can get oral-health information and use a photo booth to show their smiles.

The planned activity is public outreach, not a clinical service. Information at the stand is intended to help visitors maintain good oral health.

Institutos Odontológicos runs three clinics in Zaragoza. Its centres on Pablo Casals street and Paseo Sagasta have operated for more than two decades. The clinic on Coso street, in the city's old town, recently marked its third anniversary.

The group describes its approach as honest dentistry. It says care should be built on trust, with transparency and empathy as service principles. The organisation also cites technology and a focus on patient comfort. The source material provides no independent measures of clinical outcomes.

The wider network includes 40 clinics. They operate across Catalonia and Madrid, as well as in Pamplona and Valencia. The network also reaches Castellón. The Basque Country and the Balearic Islands are part of its footprint, too. Institutos Odontológicos says its clinics have treated more than one million people since 1988.

Community-facing oral-health work has featured in other awareness efforts, including a university's recognition of prevention and public-health work in dentistry.

The SportWoman Expo takes place on November 7, followed by the Carrera de la Mujer on November 8, 2026.
