Alveolar bone 3 articles

Alveolar bone is the tooth-supporting portion of the maxilla and mandible that forms the sockets around erupted teeth. Its height, contour and remodeling are closely tied to periodontal attachment, extraction healing and implant-site anatomy. Clinically, changes in crestal bone level are assessed in periodontal and implant care, while post-extraction resorption alters the alveolar ridge. This specialized jawbone is only the tooth-bearing alveolar portion, not the complete mandible or maxilla.
