Gargle says its new report will help dental practices track traditional search performance and see how they appear in AI-generated responses.

A dental practice can track rankings and website traffic, but calls help show whether online visibility turns into inquiries. Practices have long used those search measures to assess their reach. On October 12, 2026, Lehi, Utah-based marketing company Gargle, Inc. announced an expanded approach that also analyzes how dental businesses appear in AI-generated responses.

Gargle's established measures include keyword rankings and organic traffic. The report also considers local search visibility, including Google Maps. Online reputation and patient inquiries round out its picture of a practice's online presence. Gargle names ChatGPT and Gemini as AI platforms patients may use to research providers. Google's AI search experiences are also part of the changing landscape, alongside Google Search and Maps. The company described the offering in its announcement of its visibility report.

What the expanded approach covers

The report considers organic search performance and local visibility. It also looks at online reputation, connecting marketing activity with outcomes such as calls and appointment inquiries. Gargle says those measures can point to new-patient opportunities. Its approach adds Answer Engine Optimization, or AEO, and Generative Engine Optimization, or GEO, to established SEO work. That work includes website optimization and local search. Content is also part of the offering. The report is available alongside Gargle's ongoing search optimization services.

Gargle's stated position is that AI search adds ways patients may find dental providers. Strong Google rankings and local visibility still matter. Google Search Central says a page must be indexed and eligible to appear with a standard search snippet to qualify as a supporting link in AI Overviews or AI Mode. Google sets no additional technical requirements for those features. Its documentation also describes query fan-out, where AI search runs multiple related searches to develop a response. AI Overviews do not appear for every query. Google reports traffic from its AI features within the general Web search type in Search Console. Google's AI features documentation lays out these details.

That distinction matters when practices weigh a marketing report against Google's own rules for appearing in AI search. In practice, the report can track visibility, while Google's documentation specifies the conditions for a page to qualify as a supporting link.

For owners weighing marketing alongside wider business decisions, a practice-market report has covered how higher rates and DSO expansion are changing US practice-buying options.

Gargle also offers website design and paid advertising for dental practices. Its services include social media and online reputation management. The AI Search & Marketing Visibility Report connects visibility measures to patient-acquisition outcomes such as calls and appointment inquiries.
