Digital X-Ray Sensor 1 article

A digital X-ray sensor is an electronic intraoral receptor that converts dental X-ray exposure directly into a digital image. CMOS and related sensor technologies are used for bitewing and periapical radiography, with the image displayed through compatible acquisition software soon after exposure. Positioning holders help place the rigid sensor and align the beam for reproducible geometry. The sensor receives radiation and captures the image; it is distinct from the X-ray generator that produces the beam and from phosphor plates that require separate scanning.
