Zirconia Disc 1 article

A zirconia disc is a CAD/CAM ceramic blank from which dental restorations and frameworks are milled in an enlarged presintered state. Applications include monolithic crowns, bridges, multi-unit structures and selected implant prosthetic components, followed by sintering to achieve final density and dimensions. Different discs vary in translucency, shade and mechanical formulation, but the common workflow is milling plus high-temperature sintering. The disc is the machinable zirconia material, not the finished restoration or furnace process.
