Dentin 1 article

Dentin is the mineralized tissue forming most of the tooth beneath enamel in the crown and cementum on the root. Its tubular structure connects closely with the pulp, creating the dentin-pulp complex and helping explain sensitivity when tubules become exposed. Primary, secondary and tertiary forms reflect different stages or responses of tissue formation. Compared with enamel it is more permeable and less mineralized, while unlike pulp it is hard tissue rather than the tooth's neurovascular core.
