Periodontal Maintenance 1 article

Periodontal Maintenance is the long-term supportive phase that follows active periodontal treatment and aims to detect recurrence before further attachment loss becomes established. Recall intervals are tailored to risk and may include plaque-control review, periodontal probing, bleeding assessment, debridement of residual deposits and reinforcement of smoking or home-care measures. Residual pockets, implants and changing medical factors may alter follow-up. The subject is continuing disease control, not the initial non-surgical or surgical treatment phase.
