Care Quality Commission is the independent regulator of health and adult social care services in England, including dental practices that carry on regulated activities. It registers providers, inspects services and assesses compliance with fundamental standards covering safety, governance, staffing and patient care. The CQC regulates the organization and delivery of dental services rather than the professional registration of individual dentists or dental care professionals, which falls separately under the General Dental Council.
