Dental robotics covers robotic or robot-assisted systems used to control, guide or automate physical movement during dental procedures. Concepts include computer-guided positioning, surgical navigation, implant assistance, haptic guidance and other clinician-supervised motion-control applications. A robotic system combines hardware, sensing, software and procedural planning rather than functioning as an image-analysis algorithm alone. The definition assumes clinician oversight and does not equate robot assistance with autonomous dental treatment.
